August Update
Check Out What We've Been Up To...
This past month, four of our Workshop Members and two Leaders had the opportunity to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro as porters! Leaders Denis and Murei had previously climbed, but for Workshop Members Rajabu, George, Charles and Walter it was a first time. Working as a porter is a very challenging job and we are so proud of our team for being up to the challenge!
The weekend of August 19th, our junior rugby team traveled to nearby Arusha to participate in the East African Rugby Cup. It was a great event and the team played hard, placing third overall. Congratulations to our boys and all the others that played!
PTBGC is one of many community organizations that are participating in a recycling competition. Using mostly recycled materials, our teams will create an object of decoration, art of utility. First places wins 200,000 TSh (~$100) so our teams are very eager to create and share their knowledge of recycling! Judging will take place at the end of November and we will be sure to share our finished masterpieces with you!
People of Pamoja gives insight into the lives of the people that make up PTBGC. Each month we will be introducing you to one of our Members or Leaders and sharing their story.
Consider Joining the Pamoja Family!
We are looking forward to our annual Pamoja Cup football (soccer) tournament, which will occur in October this year. The tournament brings teams from around Moshi together to play, foster relationships, break down barriers and educate the community on social issues. If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please send an email to shay@onendoto.com.
Looking to make an impact in the lives of others? We currently need donors to support the educational costs of students at our partner project in the DRCongo. For as little as $50USD send a Congolese child to school for a year. Visit Worlds Collide Africa or send an email to founder Heather (heather@heatherhaynes.com) for more information.
